Camera (preferably one where you can manually control settings)
This can be viewed as creating a ritual or ceremony around the acts of seeing and coming into intentional relationship for a short time with an object. Choose a location and allow yourself to wander with eyes and mind open. Do not choose what you are going to photograph in advance. Let your subject find you. When something does request your attention, accept the invitation. Encounter it with beginner's mind, even if it is something you have seen many times before. See what it has to show you today. Be curious and respectful. Notice the way the light hits the object, and the shape of shadows it creates. Once you feel you have become acquainted with the object, pick up your camera and explore observing it through the viewfinder. Take your time/give your time to this act. Don’t rush and snap off a bunch of exposures, be thoughtful, intentional and selective. Decide which views and angles are most appealing. Consider which camera setting would help expose the true nature of the subject.
After taking a few (just a few) carefully considered images, find a way to create closure. Bow or find a way to say thank you.
