In nature, there is a constant exchange of energy and form, a continuous process of selfless giving. The clouds give rain to the earth. The rain gives nourishment to the plants. The plants give nutrients to animals. And the animals, when they die, give their bodies back to the earth. This giving is also in our nature, though we don’t always experience it in this way.
