Getting The Mail
Getting the mail provides an opportunity to practice mindful walking as we step outside or take a short walk to get the mailbox.
Feel the touch of the key or latch on the mailbox, and sound of door opening and closing. Look at each piece of mail, even if junk mail, even if just for a moment. How many people touched this mail to get it from where it started to my house? How fortunate this can happen for $0.45. Sort each piece deliberately. "Recycling, respond now, respond later, mis-delivered." Appreciate the sound of the envelope when it opens.
