Starting/Driving A Car

Approach your car and pause for a second before unlocking and opening the door. Perhaps bow if you can or do so in your mind. Pay attention to each step. Settle in your seat. Place your carry ons safely. Adjust mirrors. Fasten seatbelt. Start your car (or motorcycle or truck). Briefly consider how all these thousands of parts came to be yours, how they got here, all the people who contributed. Consider what is providing the energy to make it run, whether gasoline, diesel or electricity. How did it get here? What is the real cost? As often as you like, avoid adding the radio or music.

When driving, just drive. Breath. Notice. "Backing out of my driveway". "Turning left". "Stopping the car".
